Starburst Stitch Shawl
The lacy look of this crochet shawl is perfect for cool evenings and air-conditioned rooms, while the color-changing yarn adds a spark of spice to your wardrobe.
Using different colors and weights of yarn will create completely different looks with this pattern. Worsted weight yarn will give you a warmer wrap for the cooler months, while thinner yarns such as fingering and sock will create a light, airy shawl. The key to achieving success is to match the yarn weight with the appropriate hook size, going to a larger hook for looser stitches.
In addition, three different shape options provide a variety of looks that can easily be customized.
Recommended yarn for this project is Lion Brand Shawl in a Ball (518 yards). The pattern also works up great in worsted weight and lace weight yarns, in self-striping and solid colors.
