St. Andrews
This two-colour lace shawl begins at one point and is shaped with increases along one edge to form an asymmetrical triangle. It moves through a “cathedral windows” lace pattern to a two-colour ripple stitch and finishes with a contrast border incorporating lace and small cables.
This pattern is both written and charted, and uses one skein each of two contrasting colours of a 4ply yarn with 400 yards per 100 grams. The sample was knitted in Old Maiden Aunt superwash merino/cashmere/nylon 4ply and used one full skein each of “kelpie” and “greige”.
