Spiral Birds require two colors of yarn of the same weight.
You may use any yarn weight with appropriate hook combination you choose. As left and right-facing versions are included, you may sew them together and create a dimensional bird, a small amigurumi,
or a bird brooch.
Their crown feathers are optional as are their tails -- whose presence and length are up to you.
These Spiral Birds are inspired by Ria Hoogiemstra’s Paisley Birds and emerged from the IFF Group’s Paisley C/KAL. They became a dominant motif for my Bird Bolero, creating a figured, freeform fabric.
