Spincushion for Supported Spindles
MATERIALS
Yarn
40–60 yd total (20–30 yd per square) worsted
weight yarn; more yardage for finer yarns, less for
bulkier yarns. This is a perfect little project for handspun leftovers!
Needles
Set of 5 double-pointed
needles of a size to produce a closely knitted fabric
with your yarn.
Fabric
Two 5½“ squares of cotton fabric for lining (tea
dyed 100% cotton used for examples).
Notions
Split or locking stitch marker; sewing needle; thread; uncooked rice or clean aquarium gravel for filling; two 1” buttons.
Gauge
Exact gauge is not critical; knitted fabric should be firm.
Finished Size
About 5” × 5” × 1¼“
