Spin Your Granny Square Blanket Pattern US and UK terms
The Spin Your Granny Square pattern has been created as a tutorial for those who want to learn how to make granny squares, half squares, quarter squares and how to Join as You go when your grannies are turned in a diamond shape.
The instructions have been written up to recreate the first design pictured (pastel solid squares), yet instructions at each step have been given to assist you to create your own custom size and colourway like some of the others pictured here.
The pattern comes as a 13 page PDF download, with comprehensive instructions.
Instructions include -
- Step by step photos
- Join as you go chart
- information on how to calculate the pattern to your own custom sizing or colour way.
- blank charts to assist you in planning your own colourway.
The pattern sizing information is based on using DK yarn but some indicative sizes have also been provided for Aran yarn. And of course you can use whatever size yarn you like with a granny square.
This pattern is easy enough to be used by a beginner who knows their basic stitches, yet it is different enough from your standard granny to be enjoyed by an intermediate crocheter too.
Stitches used are
US - CH, SC, DC, HDC, and Crab Stitch border (optional).
UK - CH, DC, TR, HTR and Crab stitch border (optional)
I am more than happy for you to sell any finished products, although I’d really appreciate it if you could give my shop the pattern credit.
