Spice Agony is the dangerous process of becoming a Reverend Mother. One had to take a lethal overdose of Melange and process the toxins through their body rendering it harmless. This was how the Reverend Mothers gained “Other Memory”, which was the combined memories and wisdom of the Reverend Mothers before them.
This sock is worked top down with the option for a picot cuff or plain ribbing, with a short row heel and stranded colorwork pattern over the foot. The charted pattern is meant to depict both agony and audio sounds of many voices, each box representing a reverend mother. I chose a main color yarn that pooled oddly to show the chaos of the process.
Short row heels never fit right for me so I am working the heel in ribbing in hopes it fits both those who normally use this heel and those that don’t. It should also fully accompany the widest part of the heel so the stranded colorwork won’t be stretching over the instep since it starts later in the foot.
