Sommerfeld Shawl
When is a log cabin not a log cabin? We wanted to play with the idea of log cabin in a new way. We also wanted to knit something that was not a blanket or a washcloth, but something we could wear.
Ann Weaver has made log cabin one of her signatures as a knitwear designer. This transparent, lacy design was inspired by the windows Josef Albers designed in the early 1920s for the Sommerfeld Residence in Berlin, a collaborative Bauhaus project.
Pick your four colors of Neighborhood Fiber Co. Loft and you’re ready to play with blocks.
The Sommerfeld Shawl is not sold as a single pattern.
