This slouchy tam features a deceptively simple textured pattern forming into a snowflake-like shape on the crown. Your tam will be crisp and perky when knit with a springy sock yarn, smooth and slouchy in a soft luxury blend.

Sneachda is Scottish Gaelic for “snow”.

Pattern Notes
Don’t worry if the ribbing seems small for your head circumference — it’s supposed to fit really snug to provide stability for the soft and slouchy body and crown of the tam.

You can change the look by choosing not to block or blocking over a round object (like a balloon) to get either a beanie or a slouchy hat instead of a tam. Blocking instructions for the tam shape are given in the pattern.
