This open-front cardigan is designed to be worn loosely, with the front panels resting gently at your sides rather than meeting in the center. It’s the kind of layer you’ll throw on over pajamas in the morning or wrap up in on a quiet evening at home. If you prefer more front coverage or a cozier, oversized feel, consider knitting a size up.

This sweater is knit in pieces. You’ll begin with the back and front panels, worked flat. Once joined at the shoulders, stitches are picked up along the sides for the sleeves, which are also knit flat. After seaming the sleeves and sides in one satisfying go, you’ll finish by picking up stitches for the collar — a simple ribbed trim that adds a touch of polish to the cozy silhouette.
