Small sitting teddy bear
This tutorial provides a detailed description, with clear step-by-step photos, to make a 12,5 cm (5 in) tall sitting teddy bear toy.
Pattern is written in English, using standard US crochet terminology.
*** Skills required ***
Single crochet stitch, increasing and decreasing.
In this tutorial I will explain starting a piece with magic ring (adjustable loop), finishing a piece, joining pieces, knotting and hiding yarn tails.
Difficulty: easy
Pattern includes unlimited support from me via email.
*** Materials ***
Materials are not provided with the pattern.To make this project you will need:
- Yarn. I used cotton and acrylic blend 92m/50g (100yds/50g). You will need about 30g or 60m (66-120yds) of yarn.
- Crochet hook, 3 mm (US size 4/E) or according to the yarn, at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label.
- Stuffing – polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc.
- 9 mm safety eyes or buttons, beads, felt etc.
- Embroidery floss.
- Tapestry needle.
- Scissors.
- Stitch marker.
- Ribbon, thread and sewing needle.
Other materials and bulkier or finer yarns can be used to make a smaller or larger toy. Pick a crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label.
