Slonnet
The defining feature of a bonnet is the way a Hat splits at the nape, following the line of the chin to fully frame the face.
Slouch can mean added length or width. It’s a bit subjective yet it can occur with any style of Hat. With this Hat I wanted to try a slouchy bonnet style, something that maintained the comfort and fit of a bonnet but didn’t squash the hair, much like bonnets from the Victorian era. After all, bonnets don’t just belong on babies!
Slonnet’s brim is shaped by short rows, resulting in a warm and comfortable fit. The body of the Hat features ridges in a Fibonacci sequence which is then finished with an origami-like folded crown.
Casual and comfortable, warm and stylish, Slonnet is a simple yet interesting knit that’s suitable for all ages and genders.
