Experience the plush fibers of our chunky weight West Wool Cargo yarn as you knit this bulky brioche shawl. This pattern is ideal for a first brioche project because there are easy knit rows between the reversible brioche rib sections. Choose two colors of chunky yarn as in you increase on one edge to shape the triangular fabric toward the border. A high contrast color selection will create a dynamic effect and produce stitches that are easy to read. Choose a more subtle color combo for a more shadowy striped effect.

Pattern Note
In two-color brioche stitch, two rows are worked for each counted row that appears on the face of the fabric. The first color is worked across the row and then the row is worked again using the second color. The next row is worked the same way, once across with the first color and worked again with the second color. When counting rows, count only the stitches going up on a knit column. 2
worked rows (work across with MC and work across again with CC) = 1 counted row.

When you put down your knitting and forget which color you ust used and which color to use next, look at the color of the yo in the row just worked. That is the last color you used.

This shawl is written using a main color (MC) and contrast color (CC) in the instructions. The RS features a dominant MC and the WS features a dominant CC.
