Supplies:
Suggested yarn; Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn Metallic (4
medium) Acrylic
2 skeins – 5 oz./142 gms/252 yards/230 meters (Main Color)
1 skein - 5oz./142 gms/252 yards/230 meters (Contrasting
Color)
Note: 2 Skeins Main Color will complete entire dragon -
depending on length of tails/tension. Different yarns can
be used with appropriate hook size resulting in different
lengths of wire required
3.5 mm (E) hook
PolyFill Stuffing – to stuff body as you progress - 1 bag (12
oz./340 g)
Eyes (2) - Post Animal (slanted) Safety Eyes - Size 10mm or
12mm for 4 ply yarn
Stiffening Agent- Optional - Nail Polish, Fabric Mod Podge,
Craft Glue – clear for stiffening horns,
spikes, ears, and nails (NOT suggested for
child’s toy)
Tapestry Needle – for sewing
Wire - 18 or 22 gauge - depending on yarn used; Body; 33”
nose to tail, Wings; 24” top of spine, 15” between
sections, Legs; 18” front, 20” Back (Wire NOT
suggested for child’s toy)

Space (sp)
Increase (Inc) 2 stitches same space
Decrease (Dec) complete 2 spaces as one – start stitch
in 2 spaces, complete as 1 stitch reducing stitch count by
1 space
Short Row – complete number of stitches, slip stitch
next (place marker), turn. Work short row, sl st next
(place marker) - Will work st into same st sp as markers
on last full row to complete first full row. (if needed sc to
get to correct starting point)
Sc # = how many spaces to sc in
#Sc = how many sc in next space
Front Loop Only (FLO)
