The Six Wives Shawl has been designed in collaboration with Biffsugar Yarns to celebrate the six wives of Henry VIII.

It uses one 100g skein of yarn and a five 20g mini skeins of yarn and you can buy the Six Wives Shawl Set I used for this pattern from Biffsugar Yarns here (only available in limited quantities).

The narrow asymmetric shawl design works perfectly to show off one main colour and five mini stripes of colour thus representing each of Henry’s Queens (and the length of his marriages)!

Catherine of Aragon - gold
Anne Boleyn - red
Jane Seymour - pale pink
Anne of Cleves - mint
Katherine Howard - bright pink and orange
Katherine Parr - mid-tone pink

The shawl is made entirely using double crochet stitches (single crochet if you are in the US), and in 4ply/fingering weight yarn.

Using a 4mm hook with this weight yarn gives great scope for blocking and because of the curl that double crochet gives it will need to be wet blocked fairly aggressively. For this reason the listed gauge is after blocking.
