Simple Cable Beanie
This simple cable beanie is knit in the round, on one size of needles. It would be suitable as a first cable project, given that the cabling pattern is not overly complicated.
The hat is sized for an adult, but instructions are given on adjusting the stitch count to create a smaller or larger hat. Gauge is not hugely important for this beanie; the ribbing creates a comfortable fit. I would suggest being guided by the needle size suggested on your Aran wool.
You might knit this hat from one skein, depending on its yardage. (e.g. the self-striping hats pictured were each knit from one 50g skein of Adriafil Zebrino yarn, but this has a generous yardage of 125m compared to many 50g skeins). I would suggest a requirement of 100 metres/110 yards of yarn.
