Sidewise Socks elevate a classic vanilla sock with beautiful lateral braid cuff detailing. These pops of sideways stitches provide the perfect opportunity to play with color & use up little bits of leftover yarns - or knit yours in one solid color for a more subtle look. Choose from five sizes as you knit this sock in a traditional cuff down construction with heel flap & gusset.

This pattern assumes knowledge of working in the round and basic sock construction. This pattern features lateral braids (also known as Latvian Braids or Vikkel Braids). Video tutorials are included for special techniques: Minimizing lateral braid jog in the round; resolving elongated stitches after lateral braid.
