I designed the Showtime Stripes Hat to be a super fun and easy project using the Strange & Unusual palette, which was created by LolaBean Yarn Co. and inspired by the movie, Beetlejuice. This design draws its inspiration from the striped suit worn by the main character and his well-known proclamation once his name is said three times. Starting with a corrugated rib brim, the body of the hat moves into a series of simple stripes that provide a relaxed knit you could totally work on while watching a movie. LolaBean’s subtle color palette makes this hat really versatile, but you could totally go full-on Halloween, too, with orange, white and black!

Construction
This hat is worked in the round seamlessly from the brim to the crown.

Size
This pattern provides instructions for a range of adult sizes and each size is indicated throughout as follows: Adult Small (Adult Medium, Adult Large).

Materials Needed:

Yarn
Approximately 155 (170, 185) yds/142 (156, 170) m total of DK weight yarn in three contrasting colors held singly. If your gauge is different than what is called for in the pattern, yardage will vary. Substitute yarn yardage also may vary.

Color A: 60 (65, 70) yds/55 (60, 65) m
Color B: 60 (65, 70) yds/55 (60, 65) m
Color C: 35 (40, 45) yds/33 (37, 42) m

US 3 (3.25 mm) or size needed to meet brim gauge; 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needles.
US 4 (3.50 mm) or size needed to meet body gauge; 16” (40 cm) circular knitting needles and preferred needles for small circumference knitting.
