The Shimmering Scales Mermaid Cowl uses the Shimmering Scales stitch from the Mermaid Dance Shawl to create an elegant neck warmer. Using two colors of fingering/sock yarn, the fun, easy-to-learn stitch is created using only one color at a time - no tangling!

Sizes: Adult S/M (adult L/XL) with unstretched midpoint circumference of approximately 16”/40 cm (17.5”/44 cm); the cowl stretches considerably. The S/M size will fit most teens and adults with head circumference up to approximately 22”/55 cm; the L/XL will fit head circumference up to approximately 24”/60 cm.

Gauge/Tension: 24 stitches and 32 rows to 4”/ 10 cm in stockinette stitch.

Color selection: In the sample, C1 is the lighter green and C2 is the turquoise which forms the background.
