Sequence Cowl #1
Special thanks to Dyelicious Yarn for providing their Desert Oasis yarn for the sample.
This design is the first of a series—twelve cowls in sequence knitting for 2024. This month, we’re working a simple spiral in a {k3, p3} sequence, worked over a multiple of 6 stitches plus 1. Next month, we’ll do something more interesting with the spiral, and in March we’ll work a flat rectangle and seam it in an interesting way to shape the cowl. Traditional instructions and a chart are included, as well as the sequence knitting instructions.
The sample measures 56 cm in circumference x 24.5 cm tall (22” x 9.75”); instructions are provided in the pattern to help you re-size the project to suit your needs.
This is an easy project. The techniques you will need to know,or learn, to complete the cowl are:
- cast on and bind off;
- knit and purl;
- working in the round.
Errata: Round 2 should read “ Round 2: K2, p3, * k3, p3; repeat from * to last 2 sts, k2.”
