Seedling Mitts
Seedling Mitts are as cheerful as they are practical. They keep your fingers free for planting in early spring and harvesting the last vegetables of autumn, while adding a thin but cozy layer of warmth.
Seedling Mitts are knit in the round, with virtually no finishing. The ribbed edging is worked in a neutral color to hide wear-and-tear that these useful little gloves will surely endure. Panels of contrasting pips, suggesting rows of seedlings in an early spring garden, are created by a clever series of knits, purls, and slipped stitches. This pattern achieves the look of much more complicated color-work but is simple enough for even advanced beginners.
