Seceda Beanie
DESCRIPTION
This pattern is knit in the round, bottom up. The design was inspired by the complex mountain peaks of the Dolomites near Santa Magdalena in South Tyrol, Italy. This warm, slouchy design is a perfect knit to introduce yourself to knitting two color brioche stitch in the round for the first time but elegant enough to be the envy of any knitter friend.
This pattern has three sizes available (Child, Adult Small, & Adult Large) and has instructions on how to easily modify the pattern to make whatever size you like.
SKILLS
This includes an intermediate/advanced level knitting pattern. The beanie is knit in the round from the bottom up. The techniques involved are knit, purl, wyif sl1yo, brk, brp, & k2tog. The brim is knit in brioche and there are written instructions as well as a link to my instructional video. All Frosia Knits patterns are written in standard US terms.
YARN
You will need 1 main color and 1 contrast color skein of Malabrigo Rios worsted weight yarn (100% Superwash Merino Wool). Each skein is
210 yds (192m). You will need about 150-200 yds (137-183 m) total to complete one beanie. The sample was knit using the Glitter and Playa colorways. You can easily substitute any similar worsted yarn, just make sure to check your gauge.
