This cosy is unusual – it’s tail hides the handle of the pot and the spout is covered by the bird’s removable head.
Note: you need a teapot with a reasonable length of spout – stubby little spouts won’t work with this one.
For those who don’t know: a scrub turkey (sometimes called a brush turkey) is a large mound building bird, found in eastern Australia. It is the bane of all gardeners – it’s aim is to scrape all of your garden into one place, in the form of a huge mound in which to lay it’s eggs. I know someone who came back from a weekend away, to find all her back garden beds in a 6 foot heap on her back lawn!
Because of this endearing habit, it is very satisfying to rip off the scrub turkey’s head in order to pour your tea!
