Scollop Edging
This pattern may be found on page 35 of the book. It is an openwork scalloped edging meant to be knitted on fine needles with cotton thread. As often happens with 19th century patterns, there are several errors. There are four rows missing from the pattern (two from between rows 14 and 16 and two at the end) and a stitch missing from the last row given in the pattern. In row five the “one plain stitch more” is after the eyelet.
The corrected pattern follows:
Cast on 8
Row 1: K3 YO Knit to end of row
All odd rows are the same
Row 2: K2 YO K3 YO K2T K1
Row 4: K2 YO K2T YO K2 YO K2T K1
Row 6: K2 YO K2T YO K3 YO K2T K1
Row 8: K2 (YO K2T) twice YO K2 YO K2T K1
Row 10: K2 (YO K2T) twice YO K3 YO K2T K1
Row 12: K2 (YO K2T) thrice YO K2 YO K2T K1
Row 14: K2 (YO K2T) thrice YO K3 YO K2T K1
Row 16: K2 K2T (YO K2T) thrice K2 YO K2T K1
Row 18: K2 K2T (YO K2T) thrice K1 YO K2T K1
Row 20: K2 K2T (YO K2T) twice K2 YO K2T K1
Row 22: K2 K2T (YO K2T) twice K1 YO K2T K1
Row 24: K2 K2T YO K2T K2 YO K2T K1
Row 26: K2 K2T YO K2T K1 YO K2T K1
Row 28: K2 K2T YO K2T YO K2T K1
Repeat from row 1.
There is no gauge given, and the pattern may be repeated as many times as needed to achieve the length of edging desired.
