Sassy Little Pumpkins are a fun and easy way to use up little bits of leftover sock tube and add a splash of color to your fall decor. They are so easy to make, you may be tempted to craft an entire pumpkin patch.
measurements
About 3 (3½)” / 7.5 (9) cm diameter using a 64 (72) st sock tube. A 4”/10 cm length of sock tube will make a 1½”/4 cm high pumpkin, a 5”/12.5 cm length will make a 2”/5 cm high pumpkin (not including stem), depending on how much filling you use.
sock tube and yarn
4-5”/10-12.5 cm of sock tube (per pumpkin) from Marianated Yarns Sassy Sock Tube Set; each set contains approx. 50” length sock tube with coordinating 50g skein of yarn; 75% superwash merino/25% nylon, shown in Cassis Drift.
needles
Size 1.5 US/2.5 mm circular needle, 32”/80 cm long, or set of double points. Needles are used for picking up and holding stitches, alternatively, you can use a blunt tapestry needle and yarn.
gauge Not applicable.
other materials and notions
Removable stitch marker, blunt tapestry needle, sharper tapestry needle, fiber fill or other stuffing material, small twig (1½-2” long) pipe cleaner or cinnamon stick for stem, glue for attaching stem (I used a hot glue gun).
