After a hard night of traveling the world to deliver presents, Santa’s outfit needs to be washed and hung to dry. This project makes a wonderful banner to hang from a mantel or across a doorway to help celebrate the Christmas season.

Depending on the yarn you use, the banner can be small to very small.

Included are instructions for a jacket, trousers, long johns, scarf, hat, mittens, and socks. Most of the pieces are made flat with only the mitten thumbs and long john trouser top made in the round. Hopefully this will make it easier to make if you are using thin yarn or embroidery thread. It may take a bit longer this way but it also gives you the freedom to use any weight yarn or thread.

Notions:

Stitch Markers
Yarn Needle
Sewing Needle and Thread
Small craft size clothespins
White cord for clothesline
Small buttons in size to match finished project or black embroidery thread for french knots if project is too small for buttons - you’ll need about 13 buttons, four black for the jacket, five black for the long johns, and four white for the suspenders

Colors & Approx. Yardage:

White, 200 yds
Red, 150-200 yds
Dark Green craft thread, 3-4 skeins
White craft thread, 1 skein

In place of plain white yarn, you can substitute some white fun fur instead, except for the socks, of course.
