Safari Blanket
This is my Safari Blanket Pattern - it uses US crochet terms and is made with Stylecraft Special DK yarn and a 4mm hook.
The blanket has 13 different animals/ birds. I have tried to keep the patterns as simple as I can by using the same method for the body/ chest/ heads and feet.
I have included two different types of patterns for the leaves squares - there are intarsia and applique versions. So you can choose which one you would prefer to do! the intarsia ones have colour block instructions and a chart to follow.
I have used a corner leaf pattern on each of the squares - this is worked as part of the granny square and is not an applique. The squares measure approx 18cm x 18cm. The finished blanket measures approx 100cm x100cm.
the squares are joined together using the continuous flat braid join method and it is finished with a leaf border.
The Pattern consists of the following
- Blank Leaf Square
- Lion
- Tiger
- Leopard
- Monkey
- Sloth
- Rhino
- Hippo
- Ostrich
- Parrot
- Crocodile
- Zebra
- Elephant
- Giraffe
- Branch Leaf Square Intarsia
