Sacre Coeur
Sacre Coeur is a circular afghan. The shape and colors were inspired by the beautiful stained glass windows that we saw at the Cathedral of Sacre Coeur in Paris, France. It is constructed with a modular technique. There are 114 squares and triangles but is made with only 19 individual units. This “build-as-you-go” technique reduces and simplifies assembly.
Sacre Couer can be made with either worsted weight or bulky weight yarn. The instructions are the same for either weight. The finer yarn and a smaller needle will yield a smaller finished afghan while the bulky yarn and larger needle will yield a larger piece. A table in the instructions gives specific information for each size afghan.
