YARN
Suggested a sock yarn (blend of superwash merino wool and nylon) for elasticity and durability.
Fingering weight yarn (weight 1) = Yarn estimates are written for sizes (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Estimates are approximate and include an additional 5% buffer in the yardage calculations.

CONSTRUCTION
You will start with either Style 1 (elastic) or Style 2 (ties). Each size is then written individually for the body and worked in turned rows. Depending on the style you are making, you will then connect to the opposite side of the elastic wrap or make the second tie.
Feel free to mix and match the wrap width and length following the modifications.
SIZING + FIT
This pattern is graded to five sizes, which are written throughout as Size (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) / (Toddler, Youth, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large), intended to fit circumference (16-18, 18-20, 20-22, 22-24, 24-26)” / (40.5-46, 46-56, 51-56, 56-61, 61-66) cm. Ease for all sizes is -2” to -4” / -5 to -10 cm. If you prefer a tighter fit, choose the smaller size or size down. Know that you may lose about .5” / 1cm in width because of stretch if you size down. If you prefer a looser fit, choose the larger size or size up. Keep in mind the wrap may stretch after wear.
I have a 22” / 56 cm head circumference so I fit Size 3 or 4. For Style 1, I prefer Size 4 with the extra ease as it didn’t want to slide up and off my head. For Style 2, I prefer size 3 with less ease and a tighter fit.
Detailed notes included for circumference and width modifications.
STYLES
This pattern is graded for two styles. Style 1 uses an elastic hair tie to create a closed head wrap with lots of stretch. Style 2 is an open wrap with two ties at the end to tie in a knot around your head. Click here for my video on how to tie it!
