A thick and warm cowl that can be adjusted to any size. The stitch pattern is reminiscent of the distinct pinnate leaves of the Rowan tree. Rowan trees display the most vibrant autumn colours, and the name Rowan is thought to come from the proto-Germanic word raudnian, which means “getting red”. What better name for a cowl that will keep you warm on those chilly autumn days!

The finished size of the cowl is 16.5 x 59 cm / 6½ x 23¼”, although it can be done in any length.

For aran or worsted weight yarns.

With lots of thanks to my wonderful test knitters!

How about a pair of Rowan Mittens to go with the cowl?
