Roundabout Cabled Hat
Recently, when driving home from visiting my local yarn shop, I went through a series of roundabouts, and the idea for this hat emerged. (You just never know where the next inspiration will come from, do you?) Using a 3x3 ribbing and a simple cable with a purl center—featuring it only at the bottom of the hat—and then letting the ribbing continue upward, reminded me of the straight roads after the roundabouts. This classically-shaped hat, with or without a hefty pompom, is fun and easy to make. Written for five sizes, how cute would it be to see a small boy and his father with matching hats? I hope you enjoy making this hat as much as I enjoyed designing it; and, no doubt, I will think about it every time I drive through any roundabout.
