Casasol es la empresa más grande de todas las que participan en este libro. Es una empresa familiar fundada en 1803 y desde Mieres (Girona), un pequeño pueblo de poco más de 300 habitantes, 40 personas trabajan ahora en ella para que podamos tejer con sus materiales.
La clave de Casasol para crear materiales de éxito reside en tres pilares fundamentales: escuchar, investigar y recuperar tanto valores como materiales de antaño, adaptándolos a la actualidad. En los últimos tiempos Casasol decide volver a los orígenes, recuperar maquinaria que estaba en desuso en fábrica y empezar a trabajar con todo el potencial acumulado y transmitido durante generaciones.
Cuando un material Casasol cae en nuestras manos tenemos un pedacito de su historia, y a la vez, pasamos a formar parte de ella, ya que el material cobra sentido una vez que le damos vida, en forma de alfombra, cojines, revistero o un jersey… Es así como su proyecto se convierte en transmisor de esta historia bicentenaria.
Para mí fue todo un reto crear con veggie wool, porque no estoy acostumbrada a trabajar con materiales que no son lana o algodón, pero me convenció el hecho de que fuera un hilo vegano, y que alguien apostara por él y además hiciera algo tan especial, me cautivó. Y el resultado no ha podido dejarme más satisfecha, es un jersey, cómodo, bonito y fácil de llevar, apto para todos.
Desde este rinconcito de este libro quiero dar las gracias a Marta, que es quien, desde Casasol, me escucha y me anima a crear con materiales tan especiales con el que se ha utilizado para este jersey.

NOCIONES PREVIAS:
Es necesario saber tejer punto del derecho y del revés, montar puntos mediante el método de la hebra larga y conocer la técnica del calado, así como realizar aumentos y reducciones.

CONSTRUCCIÓN:
Este jersey se empieza tejiendo por el escote, a continuación se teje el canesú con un motivo calado y el cuerpo, y finalmente se tejen las mangas. Se realiza de una sola pieza, sin ninguna costura.

TALLAS:
Talla XS: contorno de pecho de la prenda 96 cm / 38”.
Talla S: contorno de pecho de la prenda 102 cm / 40”.
Talla M: contorno de pecho de la prenda 112 cm / 44”.
Talla L: contorno de pecho de la prenda 120 cm / 47”.
Talla XL: contorno de pecho de la prenda 129 cm / 51”.
Talla 2XL: contorno de pecho de la prenda 137 cm / 54”.
En todos los casos la altura de la prenda es de 60 cm / 24” y el contorno de brazo está ajustado al estándar de tallaje en función del contorno del pecho.

AGUJAS:
Agujas circulares de 5.5 mm (US 9) con cables de 40 cm (16”) para el escote y 80 cm (32”) para el cuerpo, o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión. Una aguja de al menos un número mayor para el cierre de puntos.

ACCESORIOS:
1 marcador para el inicio de vuelta; aguja lanera para rematar hebras.

HILO:
600 (625, 700, 750, 800, 900) g de Veggie Wool de Casasol Filicor (100% Acrílico Dralón; 1100 m / 1 kg; 1203 yds / 35.27 oz)

MUESTRA:
14 puntos y 21 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) en punto jersey después de bloquear.

Casasol is the largest company to participate in this book. It is a family-run company founded in 1803 and from Mieres (Girona), a village with little more than 300 inhabitants, 40 people work nowadays in it so that we can create with their materials.

The key to Casasol’s success resides in three fundamental pillars: listening, doing research and recovering values as well as materials from old, adapting them to current times. Lately, Casasol has decided to go back to the origin, recover machinery that was in disuse at factories and start working with all the built-up potential that was passed through generations.

When a Casasol material falls into our hands, we have a piece of its history, and at the same time we become part of it, as the material comes to make sense as it comes to life in shape of a carpet, a cushion, a magazine rack, or a sweater… That is how their project becomes a broadcaster of this bicentenarian history.

For me it was a challenge to create with Veggie Wool, as I am not used to working with materials that are not natural wool or cotton. However, I was convinced by the fact that it was a vegan yarn, someone was betting on it and made something so special, so I was captivated. The result could not have made me more satisfied – it is a sweater, comfortable, pretty and easy to wear, suitable for everyone.

From this book’s little corner I want to thank Marta, who, from Casasol, listens to me and encourages me to create with materials as special as the yarn used to create this sweater.

SKILLS:
To knit this sweater, you need to know how to knit, purl, knit lace, make increases and decreases, and perform a long tail cast-on.

CONSTRUCTION:
This sweater is knit top-down: it begins at the neckline, then the yoke is shaped with a lace motif and then the body and sleeves are knit in stockinette stitch. Is worked seamlessly from top to bottom.

SIZES:
Size XS: Bust circumference of the finished garment 96 cm / 38”.
Size S: Bust circumference of the finished garment 102 cm / 40”.
Size M: Bust circumference of the finished garment 112 cm / 44”.
Size L: Bust circumference of the finished garment 120 cm / 47”.
Size XL: Bust circumference of the finished garment 129 cm / 51”.
Size 2XL: Bust circumference of the finished garment 137 cm / 54”.
Total height is 60 cm / 24” for all sizes and sleeve circumference adjusts to the standard sizing corresponding to the bust circumference.

NEEDLES:
5.5 mm (US 9) circular needles with 40 cm (16”) cable for neckline and yoke and 80 cm (32”) cable for the body, or the required needle size to obtain gauge. Needles one size larger at least, for bind-off.

NOTIONS:
1 stitch marker, spare cables, tapestry needle to weave in ends.

YARN:
600 (625, 700, 750, 800, 900) g of Veggie Wool from Casasol Filicor (100% Dralon Acrylic; 1100 m / 1 kg; 1203 yds / 35.27 oz)

GAUGE:
