Ripple Stitch Cushion or Bag 007
This fabulous ripple or wave stitch pattern is created with slip stitches, so there’s no short row turning to slow you down. The finished piece, which measures 35cm (14in) square, can be finished as a cushion or as a bag.
The cushion or bag is knitted in aran-weight yarns and is suitable for Magic Ball Yarns (as pictured), or a colour change yarn such as Noro. It can also be worked in solid colours, using a different colour for each stripe.
Stitches used:
Cast on, knit, purl, slipping stitches.
Materials
Any aran-weight yarn you choose - I worked the bag in two Magic Ball Yarns made up of odds and ends of yarns from my stash (one pink and one orange). The cushion is also worked in two Magic Ball Yarns (one aqua/blue and one brown/natural).
A pair of 4.5mm (US size 7) needles.
For the bag - fabric for the outer bag and lining fabric, tape or webbing for handles.
For the cushion - backing fabric and a 35cm (14in) square cushion pad.
