Rikaart Shawl is a multi-directional garter stitch shawl. Many of the construction elements are similar to those used in the original Rikaart Cowl pattern.

Rikaart Shawl is worked in four sections, entirely in garter stitch, and does not require short rows, stranded colorwork, or intarsia. It does require picking up stitches, working modularly, and weaving in ends.

Rikaart Shawl uses 3 colors of fingering weight yarn:
A: 200 yards (light)
B: 250 yards (dark)
C: 100 yards (center square)
Please be mindful of gauge and the length of your ends if you’re cutting it close on these amounts! Don’t feel locked into using a light and a dark shade, or using them in those positions though. The labels are there as a guide to help you visualize the color placement in your finished shawl.

You will also need 2 circular needles in the size needed to obtain gauge, 2 stitch markers, and 2 stitch holders (or waste yarn) for holding 3 sts.
