Worked in simple garter stitch stripes, the sequence is designed to engage you throughout the whole project. I-cords are worked simultaneously along each edge to give a neat professional-looking finish and hide the floats. To enhance the smooth elegance of the cowl, it is constructed as a continuous loop - produced by working a provisional cast on which is then joined by grafting (Kitchener stitch) to the end. A fun pattern with great finishes!

Using 1 skein each of four different colours, it features a stripe sequence that is repeated three times, with the colour placements changing each repeat so that the sequence is not immediately obvious at first glance. The Rideau Cowl was inspired by cherished memories of the Rideau Canal that winds through the Canadian capital city of Ottawa, and is famously known for ice skating in the winter and boating in the summer.

This cowl adds an elegant, yet fun, flair to any outfit and plays host to both unexpected visual and technical elements while also providing luxurious warmth!
