A slightly A-line shape gives this cardigan a great wearable silhouette that can be dressed up or down. It features a cabled shawl collar, with a matching center back cable panel. The sleeve cuffs are trimmed with the same rope cable with full-length raglan sleeves.

This cardigan features minimal seaming/finishing. This sweater is begun by casting on stitches for the cabled collar and working the back neck width. You will then pick up sts along one edge of the collar to begin the body of the sweater. The sweater is then worked from the top down, back and forth, with raglan shaping. The collar is worked contiguously with the body of the sweater. The center back of the sweater is trimmed with the same rope cable pattern as the collar. The bottom hem of the garment is trimmed with garter stitch. The sleeves are knit in the round from the top down, and finished off with a matching cable pattern as well.

Note the cable pattern is presented in written form, i.e., no charts.

If choosing to substitute yarns, pick a very lightweight DK or sportweight yarn with a nice drape and without too much halo. You will need the equivalent 4 (5, 7, 7, 8, 9) skeins of the original yarn used for the sample to knit pattern as written.
