The trademark accessory of H+W—the classic cabled beanie. Red Hook by co-founder Meghan Babin is a densely cabled beanie made to block the coldest winter winds. Featuring antler and braided cables worked in rapid succession for a toasty textural fabric ideal for chilly dog walks, winter hikes, and daily errands. Made from the bottom up from an optional tubular cast on, the cables flow out of the 1x1 folded rib brim and cleverly decrease away into the crown.

FINISHED SIZE
One size; 15.75” / 40 cm finished circumference (unstretched); 8.5” / 21.5 cm finished height, brim folded; 10.75” / 27.5 cm finished height, brim unfolded. Stretches to fit a 20-23” / 51-58.5 cm circumference.

Yarn
Hudson + West Co. Forge (70% U.S. Merino / 30% U.S. Corriedale; 235 yds / 215 m; 3.5 oz / 100 g): shown in charcoal (natural dark heather gray), 1 skein.

Needles
Size A (hat body): US 7 / 4.5 mm: 16” / 40 cm circ needle and 1 set of DPNs, or your preferred needle for small-circumference circular knitting.
Size B (ribbing): US 5 / 3.75 mm: 16” / 40 cm circ needle, or your preferred needle for small-circumference circular knitting.
Size C (optional, for tubular cast on): US 4 / 3.5 mm: 16” / 40 cm circ needle, or your preferred needle for small-circumference circular knitting.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
