As a long-time ballet student and teacher, I always look forward to Spring and Summer performances! Warm weather makes me think of beautiful costumes, and nothing beats the thrill of seeing one of my pieces being performed by my talented students. In addition to classical ballet, I love Fosse style choreography; these fingerless gloves are inspired by my favorite musical, “Cabaret” . They are great to wear during cooler transitional Spring weather, or in your air-conditioned office when Summer arrives! These gloves are highly textured, yet the pattern is very straightforward and simple to knit.
The slipped and elongated floating lace stitch pattern is perfect for showing the beauty of hand dyed yarn, and looks equally great in semi-solid or variegated colorways. The yarns shown here were designed for this project and dyed by my husband and I… the colorways were inspired by aspects of musical and dance performance. This pattern would also be a great use for smaller skeins of handspun-- I used less than 40 grams of DK Cashmere to knit the entire pair!

This is an advanced beginner- intermediate knit.
