The stitch pattern is inspired by rain chains that gently guide the rain falling from the roof onto the ground on rainy days.

The sweater is worked flat sideways in separate pieces with an all-over pattern and seamed. It features Reverse Stockinette Stitch throughout and 3/4-length sleeves.

German Short Rows are used for Rain Chain section, sleeve shaping, and body hem. One short row section of Rain Chain pattern counts as one row, and stitches slide across to the other side of the circular needle before each short row section, so odd number rows are not always RS rows.

The pattern starts with the sleeves to get familiar with the stitch pattern. Sleeve sides are joined using a 3-Needle Bind Off. The cuffs are worked with only MC yarn.
