This design provides a sampling of quilt star motifs as a knitted fabric. I wanted the cowl to have the nostalgia and whimsy of patchwork quilts. Each star motif is knitted in stranded colourwork, and in intarsia for the border and where different panels meet. The small and easy amount of intarsia is perfect for those who are new-to the intarsia technique.

This is a re-work of the scarf version. Thanks everyone for your support. Especially the team at Numana Yarns. I hope this version will work as a stand-in for the scarf version.

SUGGESTED NEEDLE SIZES
US 3 / 3.25 mm needles. Or size needed to meet the pattern’s gauge. Use your preferred needle type and length to comfortably knit back and forth on a 8” / 20 cm fabric. 2 DPNs (used in the BO set up), in the same needle size used to knit the scarf.

NOTIONS: tapestry/darning needle, scissors.

GAUGE 26 sts x 25 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 x 10 cm, after
blocking, in stranded colourwork.
A match in gauge will give a similar resulting
item to the photographed sample.

NOTES
The cowl is worked flat, with a tidy and easy to work 1x1 rib border, worked using the intarsia method. Each section of star quilt motif is
worked back and forth in stranded colourwork. Once completed, the ends are seamed together, to form the infinity cowl.

Colour changes and star pattern sequence in each section are charted.
