Featured Design: Sleeveless top for women is our solid color reworking of the Quattro design from the now out of print Austermann Stricktrends 021. Originally knit up in multi-color Quattro, the pattern is for European sizes S (36), M (38-40), and L (42) (finished bust 32.75, 36, 39.25”; finished length 21.5, 22, 22.5”), and uses just 2, 3, 3 balls of Austermann Quattro. In knitting up the solid color garment, we found that the suggested pattern gauge of 10 st/4” produced an extremely open fabric, so we rewrote the pattern to a gauge of 16 st/4”, which produced a very pleasing, light and frothy fabric that still stretches beautifully in wearing. We also found that a little bit of Quattro goes a long, long way – much to our surprise, the size medium shown used 3 balls! Yarn requirements for our smaller gauge version are 3, 3, 4 balls.
