INTRO

Puncta Bag is a felted bag with clean lines and a dotted texture that evokes the look of a bullet journal page.

Construction:
The bag is worked in one piece, starting from the bottom, which is knitted flat.
Stitches are then picked up around the bottom to continue knitting the body in the round, featuring a textured two-color pattern.
The dotted motif is created using slipped stitches in contrast color, giving a playful texture with minimal colorwork.
Finally, a fabric lining is sewn and attached to the bag. Sewing instructions are included.

All measurements and yarn quantities are based on:
My Knitted Closet – The Tweed Merino, held double
Felted at 30°C (86°F) and 800 rpm
If you use a different yarn and/or wash at another temperature, the size may vary.

Felting is optional, you might prefer the unfelted texture. Just keep in mind that the given fabric measurements for the lining will not fit if you skip felting, as the bag will remain larger.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Measurements refer to the bag after felting and drying.
Bottom: 26.5 cm 10½” × 9.5 cm 3¾”
Height: 28 cm 11”

GAUGE

Worked in the round, using the recommended yarn held double, and the stitch pattern described below, with 4.00 mm US 6 needles.

Before felting:
20 stitches × 36 rounds = 10 × 10 cm 4 × 4”

After felting ( machine wash at 30°C / 86°F, 800 rpm):
21 stitches × 41 rounds = 10 × 10 cm 4 × 4”

After felting, the fabric shrinks slightly more vertically than horizontally, resulting in a denser texture.

MATERIALS

Yarn:
My Knitted Closet - The Tweed Merino: 100% merino wool. | 50 grams, 350 meters 380 yards.
Main color: 80 g (≈560 m / 610 yd), shown in Chocolate.
Contrast color: 20 g (≈140 m / 155 yd), shown in Glacial blue.

Needles:
4.00mm US 6 circular needles, 60 cm 24” cable.

To pick up stitches around the bottom and work the first few rounds, use one of the following:
Double-pointed needles (one for each side of the rectangle), or
A circular needle with an 80–100 cm 32–40” cable for Magic Loop.

Use the needle size needed to obtain gauge.

Notions:
Bag handles (sample shown with 60 cm 24” handles).
Optional closure: Optional: For the closure, I used a magnetic snap — but you can leave it open, add a zipper, or choose any other type of closure you like.
Tapestry needle.
Measuring tape or ruler.
Stitch marker for beginning of round.
Scissors.

For the lining (optional)
Fabric: 40 × 59 cm 15¾ × 23¼”

INTRO

Puncta Bag es un bolso afieltrado de líneas simples, con un motivo de puntitos que recuerda las hojas punteadas de un cuaderno.

Construcción:
Se trabaja de una sola pieza, comenzando por la base del bolso, que está tejida en plano.
A continuación, levantamos puntos de la base para continuar tejiendo el cuerpo del bolso, con un motivo con textura y color.
El motivo se crea deslizando puntos en la vuelta que tejemos con el color de contraste, aporta una textura divertida y muy fácil de tejer.
Finalmente, se cose un forro que luego se une al bolso. Incluye las instrucciones para coserlo.

Afieltrando a 30 °C y 800 rpm
Si usas otro hilo y/o lavas a otra temperatura, puede variar el tamaño.

No es obligatorio realizar el afieltrado, puede que te guste cómo queda sin hacerlo, solo debes tener en cuenta, que las medidas dadas para la tela de forro, no te servirán, puesto que el bolso será más grande.

MEDIDAS

Las medidas indicadas corresponden al bolso una vez afieltrado y seco.
Base: 26,5 cm 10 ½ ” x 9,5 cm 3 ¾ ”
Altura: 28 cm 11”

MUESTRA

Trabajada en circular, con la hebra doble del hilo recomendado, en el punto descrito a continuación, con agujas de 4.00mm US 6,

Antes de lavar y afieltrar:
20 puntos x 36 vueltas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4″

Tras afieltrar, lavado a máquina, a 30º C y 800 rpm:
21 puntos x 41 vueltas = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4″

Después de afieltrar, el tejido encoge más en vertical que en horizontal, resultando una textura más densa.

MATERIALES

Hilo:
My Knitted Closet - The Tweed Merino: 100% lana merino. | 50 gr, 350 metros 380 yardas.
Color principal: 80 gramos (≈560 metros / 610 yardas), se muestra en color Chocolate.
Color contraste: 20 gramos (≈140 metros / 155 yardas), se muestra en color Glacial blue.

Agujas:
Circulares de 4.00mm US 6 y cable de 60 cm 24”.

Además necesitarás, para levantar puntos de la base del bolso, y tejer las primeras vueltas de los laterales, una de las siguientes opciones:
Agujas de doble punta, una para cada lado del rectángulo.
Un cable de 80 o 100 cm 32” o 40” para tejer con la técnica Magic Loop.

Usa las agujas necesarias para obtener la muestra.

Extras:
Asas para bolso, yo he usado un par de asas de 60 cm 24”.
Opcional: para cerrar, he usado un cierre de imán, pero puedes no cerrarlo, poner una cremallera, o cualquier otro tipo de cierre que te apetezca.
Aguja lanera para coser y rematar cabos.
Metro o regla.
Marcador para inicio de vuelta.
Tijeras.

Para el forro (opcional):
Tela para el forro: 40 x 59 cm 15 ¾ x 23 ¼”.
