I have been making a lot of pumpkins this fall, and decided to make up my own pattern. After putting the new ones in my collection, I looked at my husband and said “I have a lot of pumpkins”. He gave me a look that said “Oh, I know but I didn’t want to say anything.” My response was, “If I keep this up, you might need to stage an intervention … or a PUMPKintervention!” I found this amusing, he rolled his eyes, but the pattern was born.

This pumpkin can be made out of any yarn. Gauge is approximate for a tighter worsted weight pumpkin, but as long as the needles give you a tight fabric, you can use any yarn you want. Uses approximately 20-25g of yarn, you can easily shorten the middle section if you see you are going to run out.

So go ahead and make as many of these as you want, but be prepared, pumpkin knitting is addicting and your family and friends may have to stage a … PUMPKINTERVENTION!
