The Progressive Tunic uses three contrasting shades of lace-weight yarn, held together and changed out one strand at a time, to create a shaded fabric from hem to shoulder. It is a great layering piece to add some interest to everyday wardrobe items, and the fine wool yarn makes the finished garment light in weight, even when stitching with multiple strands. Use neutrals as I did here, or go to town with some funky colors if that is more your style!

This model is shaded from dark to light, but you can play around with the changes and shade from light to dark, or even arrange it so that the darke!st part is in the middle!

Since yarn is held triple throughout - divide yardage by 3 if substituting 1 strand of heavier weight yarn.
