To achieve the wider opening for ribbon, a double yarn over is worked in row 1 and is worked as 2 stitches (k1, p1) in row 2. The beading is 0.75 inches wide at gauge.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO twice, k2tog and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
