Princess Irulan Corrino was described as a tall, blonde, green-eyed, patrician beauty. She was the eldest daughter of the Emperor and wed Paul Atreides, used only for her title. She narrates portions of the story and clearly had ambitions to be a writer.
This boot sock is meant to capture her classic beauty with a vintage feel. Sock is worked toe up to a heel flap then increases are worked with ribbing on the back of the leg for a comfortable fit. There is a ruffle option up the back of the leg if not wearing as a true boot sock, which would look cute in chunky heels. The cable pattern on the front represents her weaving the Dune story together, the occasional purl stitch is meant to look like twinkles in her galaxy. Since she raises Paul’s twins, there is both a mirrored lace pattern in the front and twin broken rib lines up the back (which are used to place the optional ruffles). You can continue working increases to make knee socks if desired. Back of sock is meant to resemble a corset.
