Primrose Fingerless Gloves
Inspired by John Donne’s poem, “The Primrose”, these dainty gloves will ward off Winter’s chill with fond hopes of Spring and true love. The gloves begin with a very feminine pleated cuff that is both easy to make and elegant in appearance. The palm of the glove features an asymmetrical thumb gusset for a contoured fit. I chose a yarn with tonal color repeats to add interest to the stockinette stitch palm, but the gloves adapt well to most sock yarns, even the self-striping ones.
Wearing these gloves makes me feel like I should be sitting in a Parisian cafe, sipping an espresso. It’s truly ironic, therefore, that the cover picture for the pattern features an empty espresso cup. Clearly I need more caffeine in my life.
