Positive Attitude is a two-color, boomerang shaped shawl created for worsted weight yarns. The first and last sections are in stockinette stitch with alternating garter ridges, whereas the section in the middle is worked in a slip-stitch (mosaic) pattern, which is easy to execute although it requires some concentration, making it an engaging and fun knit.

SKILLS REQUIRED
Knit
Purl
Increasing (knit into the front and back, purl into the front and back, Make One Right)
Decreasing (knit two together)
Knit through the back loop
Slipping stitches

GAUGE
16 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4“) in stockinette stitch, blocked

SIZE
Sample measures: 205 cm wingspan, 62 cm center depth / 81’’ wingspan, 24’’ center depth

YARN
Malabrigo Rios (100% Merino Superwash, 192 m / 210 yds per skein), worsted weight

3 skeins in color A, shown in Black
2 skeins in color B, shown in Apple Green

For my sample I used 2.9 skeins of color A (557 m / 609 yds) and 1.4 skeins of color B (269 m / 294 yds).

Please note that yardage is an estimate and depends on knitting style, tension, yarn and needles used.

NEEDLES
5.0 mm / US 8 (5.5 / US 9 for bind off) long circular recommended
Or size needed to obtain proper gauge.

Positive Attitude è uno scialle in due colori, a forma di boomerang, creato per filati ‘Worsted’. La prima e l’ultima sezione sono in maglia rasata con righe a legaccio, mentre la sezione centrale è lavorata in mosaico, che è semplice da eseguire nonostante richieda comunque una certa concentrazione, rendendo lo scialle interessante e al tempo stesso divertente da lavorare.

Lavorare a diritto
Lavorare a rovescio
Aumentare (lavorare un diritto e un diritto ritorto nello stesso punto, lavorare un rovescio e un rovescio ritorto nello stesso punto, lavorare un aumento a destra)
Diminuire (2 maglie insieme a diritto)
Passare le maglie

Il mio scialle misura 205 cm di larghezza massima, 62 cm di altezza al centro

FILATO
Malabrigo Rios (100% Merino Superwash, 192 m per matassa da 100g, ‘worsted weight’)

3 matasse nel colore A (per il mio scialle ho utilizzato il ‘Black’)
2 matasse nel colore B (per il mio scialle ho utilizzato l’ ‘Apple Green’)

Per il mio scialle originale ho utilizzato 2,9 matasse del colore A (557 m) e 1,4 matasse del colore B (269 m).

Nota: la quantità di filato utilizzata dipende da numerosi fattori quali stile di lavorazione, tensione, filato e ferri utilizzati.

FERRI
5.0 mm (5.5 per la chiusura) o una misura adeguata ad avere una tensione/un campione simile a quello del modello originale.

Si raccomanda di utilizzare ferri circolari considerando che sarà necessario lavorare un elevato numero di maglie.
