A Gansey-inspired welt-and-rope-cable pattern adorns this luxurious cowl, which tapers gradually from top to bottom. Worked in the round in YOTH’s gorgeous Big Sister DK base, a merino-cashmere-nylon blend, Port Angeles is light enough for transition-season wear, but with enough wooly coziness for the heart of winter. Its size and shape are generous but not overwhelming, and the gradual narrowing helps the cowl lie gracefully around your neck, whether you’re pulling it up to snug your nose under it on a frigid night or wearing it without a coat as a colorful accessory on a warmer day. The stitch pattern is intuitive and easy to memorize, making this quick but engaging knit all but fly off your needles. Like many cabled projects, a darker colorway lends a sophisticated, grown-up touch, brights lend a fun-loving, youthful spirit, and whites, off-whites, and natural greys let both stitch-patterning and sheepiness shine to great effect.
