Poetic pullover
The Poetic Pullover carries the same beautiful, flowing lace motif as my Poet and Poetry designs, now reimagined in a new silhouette. With its elegant European shoulder construction, slightly ballooning sleeves, and allover lace fabric, it’s a light and graceful sweater that feels both timeless and modern. It’s a versatile piece you can dress up for special occasions or wear casually as a delicate layering knit.
The pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins at the back neck, where increases are charted into the lace pattern before the shoulders are picked up and the front is worked. Front and back are joined at the underarm, and the body is then knitted in the round. Stitches are picked up along the armholes for the sleeves, and the neckline is finished with a folded double collar for a polished look. Hem and cuffs are completed with a tubular bind off, creating a neat, stretchy edge.
For best results, choose a solid or slightly tonal yarn to let the stitch pattern shine. The pullover can be worked in fingering weight yarn held together with silk mohair for a soft halo and delicate drape, or in a single strand of DK weight yarn for a crisper finish.
Please note that the lace pattern is charted only and not written out.

Note: The length of the body and sleeves are easily modified to suit your own body measurements. I recommend trying the sweater on every now and then while working on it to make sure you get the perfect length for your style. Please be aware that adjusting the lengths of the garment will also affect the amount of yarn needed to finish the project.
