Planum
This pattern is part of Clare Devine’s sock knitting series, Sock Anatomy: Dissecting Heels and Toes. It is available as a single pattern or part of the e-book.
Planum
Fabulous toe up socks for everyone: Planum is the perfect choice for all the family. The faux heel flap offers a great fit, especially for those with high insteps, and the clever fold-over ribbed cuff is designed to stay up while looking stylish. Add a feminine finish with a picot edge, or leave the ribbed cuff plain for a practical unisex look.

Pattern notes
The heel length is calculated using the row gauge given in this pattern. If your gauge is different please remember that this will affect the length of the foot.
The four smaller sizes have been adjusted for the flatter foot of babies and younger children. You will notice a fairly big change between the child size and XS, so please bear this in mind when selecting sizes. If you have a child with a high instep they may benefit from the XS size over the child size, providing the general sizing works for them.
